Custom spot elevation symbol linework

I created a custom spot elevation family but there is linework showing up that is not in the family and I can't figure out where it is coming from. The "WP_Spot Elevation - Target Filled" symbol only contains the black filled region. The circle and crosshairs around the filled region are not in the family and I can't find their source or how to edit them. The "Spot Elevations Crosshair (Project) family is not in the project browser so it doesn't seem editable.

I see this...

Type "VV" and check "Show Annotation Categories in this View" (Under "Annotation Categories" Tab) and then Delete it.
