Custom Instance parameter in Tag family

Hi All,

I have tried creating a instance parameter(Integer) in "Duct Fitting Tags" family which controls the visibility of multiple labels that has been placed in the tag family.

I have suggested my client to add/change the family types by type property. But, client requires to control that instance integer parameter in project properties palette, which I couldn't. Even I couldn't see the parameters in properties palette. Is there any workaround for this? Please suggest.

Hi, you should try to make your own family i-e in ducting family template.

It sounds possible.  Share your family and elaborate which labels visibility need to be controlled.

@ToanDN,

Happy to hear. I have attached the Sample family herewith. In this family, the parameter named "Option" is not visible in project property palette, when I set instance parameter. Even though the tagging switch-over can be done by adding family types, my client is very keen to have a control in properties palette. Thanks in Advance

The integer Parameter must be a shared parameter to drive a Calculated value in the Tag family, and added to Project's Duct Fitting category.  You control it via the fitting, not the tag itself.

Thanks for that @ToanDN

Please excuse me, if my question doesn't make sense here. Shall we place multiple tag for a duct fitting by this process?. For instance, Label A is Duct Size(300x 300) , B might be Angle/laylength/ other properties of fitting and C might be some comments etc.,.

This process is more suitable for using one tag showing a specific parameter chosen by the tagged elements option. If you eventually want to show all of the parameters then there is no point to use this process, just stack the parameters in the label.
