Custom hatch pattern not rendering Corectly

I created a custom hatch pattern (with pattycake) to represent a tile layout in multiple sizes. When I go to import the custom pattern file, it doesn't render correctly at all. I've made other custom hatches, but there seems to be something Revit doesn't like about this pattern. Any thoughts? Is there a dimensional limit to Revit hatches?

Hey @jason4W7GR !

Thanks for using Pattycake! And extra thanks for finding this bugggg 🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛

The space values should be negative values (to represent 'pen up'). If you add a negative sign in front of each of those, then that will fix it completely and you can use that pattern in Revit just fine.

Can you reach out to hi@pattycake.io (or keep replying here) on how you created this? Our system should fix this automatically, so there is a bug or something funky going on we'd like to investigate and push out as an update.

Thanks again for finding this 🙂 we love bug hunters.

I should also say I was using pattycake as more of a visualizer and typing the code by hand. Good chance it's not a bug and just me.

Thank you for the kind words!

Super awesome to hear --- Pattycake originally started as only a real time viewer so we could write our own PAT files easier instead of constantly having to reload into a program for minor updates... then we got carried away with extra features.

For the feedback, thank you --- Our system is drawing the pattern as if the space values are negative (they always should be)... but it definitely should flag this for the user in case they write those as positive. We'll push an update very soon that incorporates this as a fidelity check for the lines. So in the future a red  mark will show up next to the line, and hovering over will let you know 'space' values should be negative.

In the meantime, just keep writing with positive (+) values for dash, and negative (-) values for space and you will be all set. And please let us know if you run into anything else! This feedback is much appreciated and helps make it a better platform for all our users. We try our best to monitor the Autodesk Knowledge Network, but sometimes posts fall through the cracks, so also don't hesitate to poke us at our contact email.

Hope everyone has been doing well. Just an FYI for anyone randomly coming across this thread...

This has been updated in Pattycake V2. We decided to still draw the Pattern how the user intends, but let you know it will import with an error via our standard error checking notification

We've also decided to further document PAT files and rules such as these in our Pattycake Docs, which we hope everyone finds super helpful.
