Curtain walls assigned to rooms (To Room: Name) (To Room:Number)

Is it possible to add room name parameters to curtain walls?

I can do this with windows by adding the fields from the Select available fields from:

I have both window and curtain walling schedules on one drawing. As it stand the contractor will be able to easily locate the windows but not the curtain walls?

I assume its something to do with the fact curtain walls are drawn as walls!

Thanks for the response. I want to schedule the entire curtain wall (not just the doors in the curtain walls). Is your option just for the doors?

OR am I misunderstanding your suggestion?

Do you think the contractor needs the name of the room that the curtain wall is enclosing, otherwise the contractor will have trouble locating the windows in the curtain walls? Usually the windows in the curtain walls are taken care by a different contractor. They look at the elevations to prepare their details and shop drawings. Considering that a curtain wall can span several floors, the concept of room is not relevant in this case.

Yes. I've been thinking... I don't think you can avoid this. Curtain walls are walls and you got the available fields based on that.

But, i have a solution. People don't like it cause it requires some manual work, but maybe it will help you...

You can create two project parameters and assign it to the wall category. One parameter would be "To Room: Name" and the other one "To Room: Number". Basically, you would select all curtain walls one by one and manually give values to these parameters you created. In addition, you would define a universal curtain wall type mark.

Then, create a wall schedule and use "filter by mark" to schedule curtain walls. The new project parameters will be among the available fields.

Thanks all for your responses. Sort answer appears to be "not easily do-able", but thanks for your input.

I take the point that curtain walls can span across multiple floors so rooms won't come into it (often the case). However in this instance the rooms are relevant as each CW is in its own separate room...

Just select the curtain wall and enter the Room number or name to the Comments field.  It is really not a big deal.

It's frustrating to find this marked as a 'Solution.'  It's not a solution - it's a time-consuming workaround that is not parametric at all.
