Curtain Wall/Panel

Hi

There is a panel I can't replace it with a void option.

I created a Curtain Wall with -20 degree, I want to remove a panel of existing (the big one in the center). I selected and then I clicked on Edit in Place, I selected Void from the Properties Panel and Finish Model, I had a message window with 1 option is to delete the Panel which is what I did(photo 4), Then I received another window message of Empty Family (photo 5), I chose Yes to continue, to have a new error message about missing a Panel with 1 option, which is to replace it (photo 6). I have this same problem and the same messages with both Curtain Wall Exterior Glazing and Storefront. I suppose I will have the same result with Curtain Wall Type too so I didn't try it.

Many Thanks.

No such thing as a "void" curtain panel. Replace with Empty System Panel.

In the properties panel I have solid and void options only. From where I can choose the Empty option?

Select the Panel you want to Replace, Unpin it, and look for "Empty System Panel" in drop-down selector. Should be there.  If it isn't, go to the Project Browser and find "Empty System Panel", right-click on it and press "New Type" to create one.

I don't have "Empty System Panel" in drop-down selector of Properties Panel. But I have it in Project Browser Panel. What should I do with it?

I explained above that if you don't have any Types, then Right-Click "Empty System Panel" in the Browser and press "New Type" to create one.

You need to load that family first, it's in your curtain panel family folder.

The Empty System Panel Family is not a Loadable Family.

To the right side, you can find that I already have an Empty Panel in Project Browser. But it has no influence to my curtain wall since I have 2 options: Solid and Void, in the properties panel. That's why I assumed to do some steps or some way to add the empty panel as an option into the drop-down list in the Properties Panel.

Empty System Panel and Empty Panel are different and only the former works for non rectangle shapes. If you don't have it then you need to transfer project standards from the imperial or metric architectural template to bring it in.

I transferred and override all, then restart my computer but still have the same 2 options, void and solid only.

Are you saying that there are 2 Types listed under Empty System Panel; one named "Void" and one named  "Solid"?  Well, if they are listed under "Empty System Panel", those are just names. There is no such thing as a void or solid Empty System Panel.

If you do not have any names (Types) listed under "Empty System Panel" in the Project Browser,  do this:

@zs-17: if you are saying that you do not see "Empty System Panel" listed in the Project Browser, then that is weird. Empty System Panel Family is one of those Families you should not be able to delete. You can delete Empty System Panel TYPES, but not the Family.  What version of Revit do you use?

Void ans solid? Are you editing the panel in place? Do not do that. Simply tab to highlight the panel and change it to Empty System Panel type.

Yes, I'm editing in place. if I select the panel without edit in place, how can I change it to  Empty System Panel type? this is the missing step for me. in my Properties Panel there is no Empty option or I can't find it. Can you send me an illustration, please?

Message #4 describes what you need to do.

I created the Empty as per your illustration. But this has no effects on my panel. As per Toan I should not edit in place, even without that I can't find the Empty option anywhere when the panel is selected.

I'm using Revit 2021

The panel is selected and unpinned. Where can I find the drop-down list?

SELECT the Panel and check its PROPERTIES.

If you notice my previous photo, when I select the panel this option will be in gray or dimed, I can't open it to select the Empty option I created. Neither in Edit in Place.

What you are showing in your previous screenshot, is the Empty System Panel in the PROJECT BROWSER -- not in the Properties.  TAB-Select the Panel, Unpin it and look on your Properties Palette/Type Selector.
