Curtain Wall Not Cutting

Anonymous

Hi,

Been having a play but getting a bit frustrated as I have created a window ( the left hand one ) which has cut the wall fine, yet when I try to place a new curtain wall it won't cut the wall properly.  I've even tried just copying the left hand window to the right hand side but I get the dotted lines which kind of indicate it has cut the wall but then in 3D it hasn't.  I bet this is something I have done or are doing but can anyone help me please?

Use Cut Geometry to cut the wall with the curtain wall.

Use the Cut Tool to embed the CW in the Basic Wall.

That wall is the infill wall generated when you demo the hole in the existing wall.  I didn't want to go through the hoop to understand how did you do the demolition but I fixed it by add a wall opening in that wall and made it same size of the wall.

 See attached file.

Well, if that's all @Anonymous was trying to do, then all he needs to do is set the Phase Filter to Show Complete.  No embedding necessary.  Simple solution.

Which view?

Whatever. All the views are responding correctly to Phase Filter and Phase.  The only thing I see that is odd, is that the window trim, which is in-placed modeled under the Wall Category, is Created in the Existing Phase, but the glazing (CW) itself is created in the New Construction Phase.  I'd change the trim to New Construction myself.  But, it ain't my design.

Uh...maybe add a little more detail to your response.

What you posted is useless.
