Hey guys.

Am new to revit and whenever I open a new file, it has a crop view, section line, scale and other thing on there. I dont mind the others that much but my problem is the crop view. It limits me to view the whole entire plan am working with.  Can someone please help me know how to disable it. The only option i see is with hiding it, but its still active even then. Thanks

You can hide the crop region or turn off the crop region. Hiding leave its effect on but removes the edge. Turning off completely removes all cropping effects. Use the two controls on the View Control bar to do this.

Yes, that is a new template we started shipping this year. It is supposed to help folks but in this case it is makign things difficult. That cropping control is grayed out because the view is assigned to a "scope box" (long ecxplination).

To be able to control this by yourself, Go to the properties of the view and set the "Scope Box" property to "None". Now the control is enabled for your use.

Thanks for posting this. I used Revit many years, and totally ignored those buttons. I just always unchecked the "Crop View" in properties when I had the need to not crop.

I'm just glad I'm browsing this forum, learn something useful every day.
