Creating Horizontally tapered walls in revit 2023

Hi there,

 

I've been trying to model the following image in Revit, I would like to create a wall family that is tapered in the plan not in the section, is that possible?

You choose model in place in home tab component button 

Walls category 

then draw the shape of tapered wall on the top while using extrude easy task on that track with the same shape you wish for

Thank you for your answer, What about the wall's layers then? Let's say I have an interior and exterior layers that I would like to keep the same thickness as the adjacent wall while changing the thickness of only the core layer

Choose wall category from model  inplace then create void with the same part you want to remove it completely 

And so on you choose cut from modify panel and it will remove it from the main wall so you created void from model inplace to cut it  from the main wall as trick

Think about how it will be constructed in the field and then model it in Revit the same exact same way.

I highly doubt they'd build out the studs with a double wall like that in the field. The backup wall would be built as a single wall.  For an EIFS type wall, they'd simply increase the thickness of the insulation and use tapered insulation pieces (precut or hot-wire cut and shaved down on site) for the slanted areas.  For a rainscreen type wall, the air space (i.e., the attachment brackets) would vary in depth to create the slanted area.  Source: have detailed this type of angled wall and seen it built on site.
