Creating a statement using parameters in a family

Hi,

I need to use depth and height parameters from a family to produce a product code for different variations of the same family. For example the text would display the depth and the height followed by the finish of the item:

Product Code = DepthxHeight - Finish

is there anyway to get this to be variable when the size of the item is changed? At the minute I am using 'If(And' statements, but for the amount of variations required this would need a massive formula.

Thanks in advance

Hi!

You can try to combine parameters. This is new tool, that appeared in revit 2017.

If my post answers your question, please click the "Accept as Solution" button. This helps everyone find answers more quickly!

Kind regards,

Hey,

unfortunately our library and projects work back as far as 2014, so this wouldn't be a solution to the majority of the projects we work on. I also need it to only do this on certain families, not for a full schedule. The product number in question only applies to one range of products. Thank you for your help 🙂

Well, I think, with Dynamo you can do it pretty simple. Even in revit 2014.

How would you show the Code in your projects, as a tag? If so, it is fairly simple.
