Creating a cladding in a 3d steel structure

I need to clad a 3d steel structure, (no complex vertical +slanted) with Fire protection boards. I have draw 3 walls and edit profiles. I am not a good friend of editing profiles, always creates problems... Do you think of a better idea ie creating references plans and attached to them.

If there is more than one condition like this I'd be inclined to use a architecture column family.
