Create Wall by Face for each level

When creating a wall by face, you get these options as seen in picture below.

Im trying to make a wall by face thats only between the levels i choose as im tryin to demonstrate to the left in the picture below. But every time i creat a all by face i get the result to the right and i can't change the height to it.

The best thing would be if it's possible to create a wall by face and get it to split for each level automaticly but I guess that's not possible without Dynamo(?).

Best, Viktor

The tool is called wall by face. So if you want to separate the walls you should create more faces. So modify the mass you used and create more faces. As an example i created this cube and added an edge to it. This results in two separate faces. So now I can create two separate walls on that side of the cube.

I suggest to use the following method:

  1. select Face > Divide Surface using  U grid Fixed Distance equal with the Level Height ,justification Beginning. V grid , in my example , set to Fixed Number =2.  Activate Nodes of the Grid.
  2. create a New Family > Generic Model Adaptive , Use six Adaptive Points and connect them by splines , Reference Lines. Create a Form > a surface. Load this family into the Project
  3. with the Mass Element in Edit in Place Mode   place the Adaptive Family made in step 2 onto a cell of the grid , as shown in my screencast ( use Nodes for snap)
  4. still in Edit in Place Mode    use Repeat function to place the Family to the rest of cells
  5. Finish Mass editing
  6. Now , while in Project use Wall by Face. The Walls will be placed in each cell (Level)

This was a great video, but I managed to run in to some problems again..

How can I avoid the height of the walls from being different? I have the same settings for the curved wall as to the one that's flat, both with fixed distance with justification:beginning.

And why does'nt the middle wall get nodes at the ends and just in the middle?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I have to make a correction to my method. The problems comes from the fact that U Grids make equal segments along the surface face and not vertically ( on projection-  as Levels are).

So, my correction consists in creating  only of V Grids - 2 of them and no U grids.

Instead , I'll use Intersects >Intersects List >Intersecting Named References - Levels. Now , I have equal vertical projections.

You have to pay attention when placing the Adaptive Panels , not to select , by mistake, the Nodes of neighbour Faces ( you can see how  this happens in min. 5.30 of the screencast). In order to solve this error I used Temporary Hide option to hide the neighbour surfaces...
