I think bim1_deoca  is referring to add a customized Group name for grouping parameters in the property dialog box. I have the same request. For example, let's say I want to group some parameters under "Code Analysis" instead of "Identity Data". How do I create a customized group (NOT IN THE SHARED PARAMETER FILE), to be added to the property dialog box?

Nope, not possible.

The parameter groups are hardcoded builtin values inside Revit, there may be new ones added in the future releases but a user can't make make them, not in the UI or API.

Too bad.

Those property groups are not entirely aligned with the way we classify / organize the information.

For example: What Room Finishes have to do with Identity Data? They are more related to Materials and Finishes. (on a side note: there are several occasions where there are different finishes for different walls or portion of a room).

Here is another one: Building Code Analysis related parameters are not Energy Analysis, Electrical Analysis or Structural Analysis.

Hi @nelsonbRGDYE ,

Who is stopping you from creating you're own finishes parameters, as many as you need, for the room category and grouping then under "Materials and Finishes"?

And as far as Building Code Analysis goes, wouldn't those codes be Energy, Electrical, Structural Analyses?

Yes, for the room ones, but there will be Room related parameters in two different groups since there are already built-in finishes parameters for room and they are not grouped under Material and Finishes.

As far as the code analysis, there are several codes: Building codes, Energy Codes, Electrical Codes, Mechanical Codes, Plumbing codes, etc. Only Energy, Structural and Electrical are covered in the groups, not the building codes more used by Architects, like Occupancy Classification, Occupant load, Egress path analysis, Area and Height Allowances, etc., Also the Plumbing Code or Mechanical Code needs their own groups.
