Create Elevation View in Plan Callout

Running Revit LT 2017

When I make a plan callout of a view, like a bathroom or kitchen, I am unable to create an elevation in the view.  This is pretty important to be able to do. The only thing I can think of is to make it a dummy callout bubble that refs. to a cropped plan view.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change?

Thanks!

Bennett

Your plan callouts should be of the type named as "Floor Plan", not "Detail".

Edit: never mind, @Alfredo_Medina has it covered

When you create the call-out, you must choose Floor Plan instead of Detail in order to be able to drop interior elevations in the new view.

Why must it be a floor plan view? I would like to put in a request that instead of having this convoluted and arbitrary setup, Autodesk could make this feature more flexible for the next release.

Can we change existing detail view to floor plan ?

I'm also wondering the same thing.  Also wondering why this hasn't been fixed in 5 years.

2023 and the same issue.......had to go back and recreate views which is silly, should be able to either place an elevation in detail view or change a detail view to a floor plan view
