Corrupt Recovery File with incorrect schema

I am a student, not connected to a server. My laptop is my harddrive.

My problem is that when I was working on a project a file I had downloaded corrupted, and then from that point on I could no longer save my project without it telling me "element is corrupt, save a recovery file, and it will delete element to fix the problem." So I did that and then when I opened my recovery file, it said "has an incorrect schema" and I am unable to open the file at all. I can't even save it as a new file. I have looked into Central and Local files, but because I am my own server, I'm not pulling from any other server, therefore I am unsure how to recover my file without the corrupted element.

Did you try Audit option on the local file and if it fix the problem you can then creat new central from local.

Click the purple "R" button in the upper-right corner of the program window, then click "Project."

In the Open dialoge >> Check the Audit box in the bottom left corner then Browse to the folder that contains the project file that you would like to audit. Click "Open."

Revit will audit the integrity of your project file and its constituent elements. Maybe that will fix your problem..

Good to see that solved your issue 🙂

If you have a central model which is also corrupt don't forget to creat a new central from your local first before you continue working
