CORRUGATED ROOFING!

Hi

Can anyone advise me on how to create a corrugated roofing profile in revit? I dont just want a surface pattern, I want the actual profile to be shown in 3D.

I've modelled the roof by extrusion and have made it 15mm to represent the metal decking however just need to know how to apply the correct profile to this somehow.

Thanks!

create the profile as a profile family

nest into a curtain panel family

use profile to create custom curtain panel

load custom curtain panel into project

create a curtain wall using custom curtain panel

use curtain wall by face command to create custom roof

Thankyou so much!!

I found this online which was already built as a family but it says its a sweep. When i place it in my project it comes out perfectly but it wont let me adjust the width, I can only change the length. Do you know how to change the parameters for sweeps or make it so that I can alter the width?

open the family in revit

select the family and edit the family

select the profile...it will give you the name of the profile family that is being used.

go to the Project Browser and find it under Families folder

right click and edit that family

adjust the shape as desired.

save it

load it back into the revit project

overwrite the existing one

update the original family

if you are trying to increase the number of corrogations (make it look wider), then just add more linework to your base profile.  If you are trying to make the corrogated panel longer, then change the length of the sweep path.

I can't increase the length of the sweep path though. I clicked on it and it won't let me expand it or change parameters 😕

Hi Dzan Ta,

I have question about this method.

When I use the corrugated metal panel as metal wall cladding, there're gable part of the roof that need to be covered.

I cannot attached this curtain wall to the roof or edit its profile.

Do you have a way to cover this gable part of the roof?

Thank's in advance.

first of all thanks for your efforts. I only have one feedback, try to have a better microphone because the sound quality is so bad. Thanks once again
