Corridor handrail that will turn a corner

We do a lot of senior care housing and typically do a handrail that follows the corridor walls including turning a corner. I have yet to figure out a way to do this effectively. I made a family that I can change the length and it works great for the straight sections but it won't turn the corners and having to override it in each view is not a great fix. I thought I could do a railing but I haven't had much success doing it that way either. I could just use model lines but It's time consuming and I need to be able to demo them and show installing new ones in some locations.  I thought a line based family might work but it's just a single line too.

it normally isn't possible for a handrail that will turn a corner.
I would suggest that you create a wall or face based family that contains the geometry of the handrail.

Why is a railing not working?

I'm with @ToanDN . Use a railing. Set it with an offset from path. When you sketch, use the Pick Lines tool to select the wall edges for the sketch. As long as the sketch lines connect correctly, Revit will create the railing correctly. This will schedule, tag, and elevate correctly - which line based families and detail lines will not.

This particular project the handrail has a trim board at the wall as well with a profile at the top and bottom. I'll try to work with the railings more and see if I can get it to work. I had trouble getting the handrail only to show and changing the profile to the one the client wants. I haven't used railings a lot though so I'll work with it some more. I did get a family to work and do what I need but I'd love to be able to just select the walls I want it on and draw it. I tried a sweep but they don't give me enough control over the end points.

For the successful use of railings - start with creating a Railing type - Properties>>Edit Type>>Duplicate>>Rename. Give it an offset from path. 

1) Edit baluster placing. Set Balusters to None.

2) Select the handrail type. 

3) When sketching path - use pick lines. Use Extend / Trim  to make sure that all lines are connected with no gaps or overlaps.

Revit needs to see a continuous sketched line to generate a railing.

The only way to get comfortable with Revit railings is to practice using them.
