Copy Filled Regions from Project Template to Family template

Hi

I have a new challenge to finish for next week and it is to transfer the Filled Region Types from our Project template to our Detail Items and Annotation Family template. I tried to copy past them and to transfer them from project standards but that did not work.

I checked this post Cannot copy filled regions from project to family? - Autodesk Community - Revit Products but that and whatever everyone is suggesting there does not help.

We have 624 types and it will be a nightmare if I have to create all one by one

  1. You can transfer standards Fill patterns from a project to a Family
  2. To bring actual filled region types from a project to a detail component family:  (a) create a bunch of filled regions in a drafting view in the project and (b) copy paste them to the Detail component family.
  3. To bring actual filled region types from a project to an annotation family: (a) same as above, (b) copy paste them onto a sheet in the project, (c) copy the ones on sheet and paste them to the Annotation family.

Check the selection filter. .you are copying more than just filled regions. Filled regions should copy paste normally.

Edit: And you have no other option besides that or Dynamo (extract them from project to a list in excel the recreate types in family using excel list)

Thx that was it. there was one tag not showing over a solid black fill. This fixes copy but I still do not want to create 630 regions to copy  I will try with the dynamo option see were it gets me to. If I fail you will maybe find me back here on monday

Hey DR

jus here to say thanks I took your advise did some research and picked parts and pieces of scripts from the dynamo forum . the final script worked but it created some extra duplicate regions which get appended with a (1) at the end but i am not complaining. 35 extra duplicates is better than me creating all the regions to copy paste them
