Hello everyone,

is it possible to convert a Navisworks file (NWC) back to a Revit file (RVT)? I want to know that if it is safe for me to send a Navisworks file of the project to the client or a 3rd party.

thanks.

not really

Revit can't open up a native navisworks (nwd, nwc) files

With navisworks you are limited on the files types you can export to

so if I export the Revit project to Navisworks and send it to anyone, they can not open it in Navisworks and use any methods, add-ins or plug-ins to convert it back to Revit? I am trying to figure this out since we are talking about a firm's intellectual property, template, families and etc.

Thank you.

That's the point, sharing data-rich models for coordination.  But you might want to check with your client first, and check the contract.  They may be expecting a fully functional Revit model, and could be entitled to it.
