We're going to be getting several tenant finish projects within a large federal office building, so the approach we're taking to manage the models is to separate the tenant spaces into their own worksets and convert each workset into a linked model. The problem I'm encountering with this is that when Revit creates a new project file for these linked model groups, the project has no template applied to it (with our office/client standards, etc.)
Is there a way to tell Revit what project template to use when creating the new project file? Any thoughts about better ways to handle tenant projects within a large building? We're wondering about projects where demising or exterior walls might also be impacted by tenant project work.

The option of converting a group into a link creates a new file with no template, yes. I have not seen an option to modify that behavior. It must be hard-coded into the routine. However, you can use Manage > Project standards to bring standard definitions into the new file.
