Control Extents of Drywall Layers

I have some areas where some shaftwalls meet other walls, I do not need the layers with drywall to continue through an intersecting wall but would like the metal framing and shaft liner to continue thru, see attached snip. The yellow are the two layers (i.e. shaft liner and metal framing that need to stay) and  the red are two drywall layers that are not needed.

I am thinking I have to make a new wall type for this short 6 inch condition.

In your position, I would make a new wall type. That seems the simplest and most direct way to accomplish this.

Split the wall at the intersection and swap it out for a predefined wall type this isn't finished on that side.  I know it's a pain in the buttocks, but that why we're paid the big bucks. Right?

😉

...that's the one thing I love about applying finish layers as separate Wall Types.  None of this "clean-up" work.

The finish layers make sense but they are you not double or triple drawing/modeling the same wall or do you have some dynamo script?
