Control contour label background

Is there any way to control the Color (or remove) the contour label background?

Right now it's white, that looks ugly on a site plan.

Thank you for any help.

Hi there.

Do the following:

1. Access the options;

Capturar.PNG

2. Then go to Graphics and change the background to any color you like. Atention: this change is apllied in all the views.

Unfortunately, Revit does not provide an option to turn off text backgrounds on the contour labels. If you highlight the contour labels, then select "Type Properties" in Properties tab, you can change everything about the contour text except turning off the background. Changing the color of all text backgrounds in Options/Graphics will not remove the background as you can do with typical text and label properties.

This issue and option should probably be on a Revit wishlist.

I don't see a way to change that...the text in the label is set to be opaque rather than transparent, but I haven't found where that is set.

Since that is a system family I don't know if there is a way to change it.

I was hoping it was somehow tied to one of the spot elevation dimensions, but I changed all of them to transparent and it did not change the contour labels.

Same problem here.

Looks AWFUL on a coloured background.

Please fix this Autodesk.

Sooner rather than later also if you don't mind.

I also have this question, seems like a very easy thing to implement from a software dev perspective. Dims, Text, Tags and Keynotes all have this function...

Plus, the text backgrounds dig into toposurfaces. Ick. Haven't tried  it yet in v2024.

I have found literally this exact same issue today. It makes options for different display modes depending on the type on document you are preparing a truly terribl;e experience, it makes Consistent Colors or Shaded plan views look "unfinished" and amateur at best.

It's still the same in 2024.  Just like all of the other text problems.
