Is it possible to connect a fascia sweep to the roof to create a complete roof?
I have created the sweep to alter the roof edge detail so I am looking for it to appear as one element.

Can you share a screenshot of what you mean?
As long the roof and fascia are the same material, they should join seamlessly.
I have just hidden the lines of the fascia so it appears to be all one element.
However replying to the below comment, the two are both the same material but they still will not join. I have found a (not ideal) solution for now.
Have you looked at using model in place instead of the fascia to alter the detail?
Yes that's another option I might try in the future, however for now I am just looking for a quick fix.
