componet help

hello

I juat recently started a job I am still in school and I need a little help. I am trying to place a component from one project to another the problem is i need to modify the component. I am able to paste the component into the new project but when I try to modify it I am unable to it does not save or transfre the modifications. Is there a work around for this?

Try this:

In the project that has the component - find it and double click on it.  It should open in family mode.  Save the file.  Give it a different name if there is already one in your other project.

Then go to the project that you are trying to transfer to and load the family (Insert menu, Load family) into your new project.  It should work then.
