I try to add a structural column but somehow structural columns dont show up. However it appears that the column is there.

hi , did you check the value of base offset and top offset maybe negative. set to wireframe mode if any changes. thanks

Default placement for structural columns is from the current level down to the level below.  Default placement of architectural columns is from the current level up to the level above.  You may have placed the column but it may be below the view range of the current level.
