hi everyone.
Im trying to transition from using Autocad to revit and have been playing around with it for a few days. ive noticed that in 3d view and in elevations, the column line in exterior walls are visible. ive tried changing the joining order for the walls and columns...while this option works well to hide the lines in elevations and 3d, my 2d floor plans show the columns now embedded into the wall with the wall hatch instead of the solid black hatch i would like for my columns to appear as.
ive provided a screen shot of two columns for your reference. id like to find a way where my column is shown with the solid black pattern and as well as not show the column lines from the exterior walls in elevations, 3d view and sections
highly appreciate it if anyone could let me know how to solve this. Thanks in advance.
Select Column, right-click and press Override Graphics in View and then pick either By Element or By Category. Now change the Cut Pattern to Solid Fill and Black. Voila!
Are you using Structural column or Architectural column? Architectural column has ability to display course material as solid black hatch. Try to disable it.
If this isn't the case, then set the material of the column and remove the cut pattern background or foreground pattern.
