Column Ghost Placement Invisable

Dear Autodesk Community

I had this issue for a very long time an I got tired from searching all over the internet with a specific answer for what I want to fix, I found this issue also common for others with no actual solution, I hope to find an answer here.

As many of you know when you first start any new project on REVIT it starts with 2 Default levels which is level 0 & 1 (level 1 & 2 in structure template)
if you started placing any columns on these 2 levels you have no problem with the ghost placing orientation that appears before actual placing, but if you created a new level for example a level 2 above the default level 1 and clicked to place a column, this ghost placement orientation doesn't appear until you place the first column with making the placement options (Unconnected)

if the unconnected options is set to another level, the ghost placement orientation doesn't appear at all even after the first column, please see the demonstration attached video for more clarification of the problem.

I hope to get a straight solution and thanks in advance

Not sure I completely follow, but--

Try setting the Workplane to the new Level (above 1 and 2 ) before you place columns.

I tried it but actually the workplane is already set to the level I'm drawing the columns at, which is the level above 1 and 2, but It didn't solve the problem.

I do not know if you will get satisfied answer, because it might be some "vague" rules in the code.

Possibly the rule might be. Below level 1 there is no other level and that makes the column appear.

Not sure about the template you use (country). In my template on level 1 you will see that by default there is an underlay active.

Level 1.png

Because this is active the column will show.

When you create a new layer such an underlay is not active.

When you set the same underlay in the other levels your columns will show during placement.

Possible reason is how the columns are initialized in code

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
