Coloured leader arrowhead

I wonder if anyone has found a way of colouring arrowheads and their lines for Tags?  With Text it the arrowhead and line appear to follow the text colour but with tags they remain black.  This is fine in most situations but I would like to have white tag lettering and arrow when it is against a dark background.  Yes, the text, or Labels I should say, in the tag can have opaque backgrounds but this does not influence the arrow colour.

I can think of many other reasons why this should be available, for emphasis such as fire equipment where red tags and arrows might communicate more clearly.

Welcome any thoughts, thanks.

arrow heads are limited and most places print Black and White

I get if this has a purpose visually.

if you are printing in color there may be instances of function.

but still they are limited AFAIK

Hi Andrew--

Unfortunately, we don't yet have customer-accessible color settings for leaders/arrows on tags.  However, it sounds like you want to change the color (say to white) relatively infrequently (say when you happen to have a tag over a black background).  In this case, an instance override might work for you:

  1. Select the tag(s) you want to change.
  2. Right-click > choose Override Graphics in View > By Element (note that the other choice, "By Category," will change every tag in that category--probably not what you want).
  3. In the View Specific Element Graphics dialog, change the color, as desired.  OK.
  4. The text, leader, AND arrow head will now be that new color.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,

Trey

Ps:  If you absolutely need the leader and arrow to be a different color than the tag itself, then you could (I honestly can't believe I'm suggesting this) fake it by making a leaderless tag and then adding a text-less text note with a leader color that you want.  (cringing)

create an annotative family of a colored arrow head and apply it to the end of the NON ARROW HEAD Leader text style of your choosing

Excuse my ignorance but what does AFAIK stand for?

Thank you, I am going to accept this as the solution but I note that it does not work if you wish to override black to white, the leader line changes but the text remains black.  However if you change the RGB notation for white, 255, 255, 255, by 1 difference, say 254, 255, 255 then it will work.  Weird!

Is there a way to make the leader line opaque?

White on white background would do the trick. No?

No, I did a CAD import into revit of a helioscope for solar project. The opaque text prints out nicely but the leader line is still to dark and I would like it to appear like the text.

@treyk You wrote "we don't yet have customer-accessible color settings for leaders/arrows on tags" in 2017, what about now? I was a bit disappointed to find this solution-titled work-around today.

@treyk How about later today, then? What or when does "yet" translate to. It certainly reads as though it were on some programmer's list already. Since 2017.
