Colour of carpet changes when I export to IFC

Dear all,

I have changed the colour (appearance) of the floor's carpet in Revit architecture.  I started with a red carpet, and desired to make it more of a neutral colour.   It was a success, however, when I export the document to IFC the colour is back at red.

Would someone be able to tell me why, and how I can change the colour of thecarpet so that in an IFC export it is also at the changed material?
