We need Autodesk to add option or open to third party developers to make an alternative to PANTONE button in the color picker. (PANTONE is somewhat useless in architecture). We use mostly Sherwin Williams/ PPG colors, and would be nice to just click a SW button or optional colors book, and select color. No need to look up RGB values, and manually input them. If there are any third party developers that can make this, please do. Everyone using Revit knows that the color selector needs to be updated, but people in charge of Revit updates care more about adding fluff rather than what most people desire. I bet if a Autodesk did a poll about updating color picker, 99% of people would say "yes". Adding Hex, color books, updating swatches, saving swatches, etc.
Not putting this under the "ideas" because Autodesk never listens to people ๐
You can use other color palettes as RAL , for instance..
you can download the RAL palette from here:

you have to load it into Asset Browser...

Those are ready materials, not RGB color picker. There is also a SW material download. The point is when you already applied a material to several objects, you will have to either select all of them and apply a new material (which is time consuming if you have 50 items all over the model using that material) or just change the rgb value of said material. Which is done by changing rgb number values, or find the material like you mentioned from RAL library or SW, select the color, save that color in one of the 16 slots, then open your original material, and change that color to saved slot color. Do you see my frustration in all the extra steps. Would be nice if instead of Pantone, we could have other color pickers.

I certainly do. I'm winded after just reading that rigmarole. ๐

Try the IDEAS forum. Autodesk actually uses that forum to add new features.

Never even thought about it. Not a need for me at all.

That's wrong. They've been adding new features based on user requests for a while now. Better run on over there because they definitely don't look here for IDEAS. SMH...
Alright I posted it under the ideas section. please go vote if you believe this is important. I was a bit nicer there ๐

If Autodesk implements your color picker idea, this is my suggestion for the toolbar button icon:
