Cloud Workshare, BIM 360, and Revit

Hey all!

I’ve been using Revit for a number of years and have fairly extensive experience with it. However, there is a lot of Revit that I have not used/explored. Some of which being the cloud work sharing.

At one point I had used Autodesk 360 or BIM 360 (been so long that I can’t remember the name) to collaborate on a project so that multiple people could be working in the model at the same time and sync. This seemed to work great and now years later I am wanting to set up a similar system. I understand that this has now moved to Collaborative pro, is this correct?

With all that being said, I am having trouble understanding/getting this system set up with Revit 2023.

My Revit Home Screen says “You currently don’t have access to Revit cloud models” and says that I need to subscribe to “Revit Cloud Worksharing” or cloud “Cloud Modles for Revit”

I have access to autodesk BIM collaborative Pro, Autodesk docs account with access to projects, and a Revit subscription. The one I am missing is access to the Revit Cloud Worksharing. Based on the autodesk help section I need to contact my administrator to be granted access to cloud worksharing. Trouble is, I am the administrator and can find no way to grant myself access.

I additionally cannot seem to get to the bottom of the cloud work share add-on and am unable to tell if I have it installed or not.

Has anyone run into these issues? Any help you all can offer is greatly appreciated!

Chances are I am making this much more complex than it needs to be…

Thank you!

Welcome to the community!

A BIM Collaborate Pro license has multiple components, five of which are automatic and seven of which can be assigned or unassigned.  Chances are you have all twelve assigned.  You can check that in Autodesk Account.

Selecting the BIM Collaborate Pro item will show you the items.  If all 12 items are not assigned, verify that Revit Cloud Worksharing is one that is selected.  (If your BIM Collaborate Pro license was obtained after Autodesk dropped access to BIM 360 Team, you may only have 11 items.)

If that is all set correctly, you still need to be a member of a project with permissions to edit at least one Revit Cloud Workshared model in that version of Revit for something to show on the Revit home page.

Is your firm hosting the project?  Have you set up a hub, and are you a member (and, perhaps, an administrator)?

Or are you trying to access a project that another firm has set up on their hub?  If so, have you been invited to the project?  Did you click on the verification link in the email notifying you that you were added to the project?
