Cleanup of DWG imports in families

Hi fellas!

Is it possible to somehow create geometries from imported dwg files to Revit ones?
Or, is it at least, possible to clean all those polylines into more smooth surfaces?

Whats your way of creating Revit families from 3D dwgs? (will be visible in VR, needs clean surfaces and ability to change materials).

Import CAD into Revit family.

Option A - Duplicate the geometry with native Revit geometry, add parameters (much much MUCH preferred)

Option B - Save with CAD geometry, use create parts in project to control visibility

The problem with CAD DWGs is that they will come in with faces (possibly triangulated). Try exporting them to the SAT format before bringing them into an RFA for cleaner faces.

Option A - Feels like the best way... But takes alot of effort, especially for families like the attached one. There will be several complicated families for this Hospital project. They only need to "look good" in this case, no need for parameters.

Option B - Create parts from the geometry? Can you create a part including all the polylines and hide those?

Will try the SAT workaround, thanks for helping.

Have you checked with the manufacturer or similar manufacturers to see if they have Revit families?
