Changing the starting point for materials applied to families

Does anybody know if there is a way to define where a material starts once it is applied to a family? I have some graphic families set up that are just thin rectagular extrusions. When the material/graphic is applied the generic location for the material to start is directly in the center of the family. What I need it to do is start at the bottom left corner of the rectagle. Is this a possibility?

Hello, David.

As I was reading your post, I found this article, called Applying materials to Elements. I would like to ask fo you to review it, as it provides access to our database in regards to material applications. I would pay close attention to the section called "By Face", as I believe this is the closest answer to your inquiry.

Yeah, I read that earlier but it wasnt quite what I was looking for. I was able to figure it after I posted the question by using a combination of pinned reference lines made to define the orgin of the family, pre-setting the materials within the family, and some offset parameters. Thank You for the reply though.

@Anonymous , I have exactly the same problem as you are. Can you explain a little bit more about how you pinned your original point to make it happen? I tried to pin the reference line and check the define origin box. But my material still start at center of the surface. MANY THANKS!
