Changing the scale of a view on a sheet, Revit uses an arbitrary base point. How can I change this?

When I change the scale of a floor plan view on a sheet, it scales from a seemingly arbitrary point. I would like this point to be at the internal origin, because this is where our referenced DWG files are based. How can I change where it bases the view?

I've shown the arbitrary base point by the reference plane crosshair at the bottom right, circled in red. Can anyone help?

  1. Enable crop and make sure the crop region is sized as necessary
  2. Select the View on sheet and set a Type with a View Title
  3. Move the View Title closer to the crop Region or Internal origin
  4. If you do not need the view title, simply re-select view and set one without a Title

Huh?

What do you mean by: "that is where our referenced DWG files are based"?

Thank you so much! I turned on the title of the view, and moved it to the internal origin.

We don't use view titles, so I had no idea it was there. Thank you!

It's complicated- basically we have a really inefficient system where I work. Our designers don't know Revit, so they'll design homes in AutoCAD, then I will import them into Revit and create the model based on their cad file.

I just wanted to change the scale of the view without it moving off the title block.
