Chainage Markings in Plan View

Hi. I'm trying to figure out how to do chainage markings along the centerline of a winding road in plan view.

Is the centerline already placed? If so, by what method?

I traced over a satellite image using detail lines.

Use Model lines or Railing.  Better yet, create in place mass, draw spline and divide it with 10 meter increment.

No. Something more like a measurement every 10 meters along the line e.g. 0+000, 0+010, 0+020, 0+030... Previously I figured out how to do it by using the array tool to duplicate points along a relatively straight line and then using the dimension tool and changing the string type from continuous to ordinate. I feel like there should be an easier way to do this and the method I mentioned does not work as well on a line with many curves in terms of displaying the measurements along the curved line.

Yes your image is similar to what I am doing but how would you place measurements at each point using the dimension tool and not text? 

What I have in my image is a mixture of ordinate dimensions and text. It would be tedious to do this in my latest project so I wondered if there was an easier way.

Easier way? From Satellite imagery?  

Out of curiosity, what's the purpose/value of doing this?  I mean, you're essentially including Civil information on your Plans that is not coming directly from any Civil Planning.  Seems odd to me.

An easier way of measuring along a line with many curves and having the measurements align to the curve and go from 0 to whatever is my end distance is at intervals of 10. The purpose is just to have a rough idea of distances along the line for reference, so for example if I needed something done between 0+050 and 0+090 this would be used as a guide to get to the exact area on the road.

You can turn on Show Node Number for the divided path so you can know roughly where a node is at what distance from start.

I tried this but when I come out of the edit in place menu the nodes display but the node number disappears.

Yes you need to be in the edit mode to see the numbering.  You maybe able to use Dynamo to bring the node number to a tag but you will need to ask the for it in the DynamoBIM.org forum.
