Hi all,

I am pretty sure at some point, you have had the issue with the warning saying, "The requested operation cannot be completed because the model is not currently available."

I have been in touch with the Autodesk support team for the issue, and it seems there is no way to address it. This forum is my last hope to find a solution for this since we keep losing our work because of this.

Before making any recommendation, please note that I have done the following:

1. Updating Revit to the latest build in all devices

2. Setting "Worksharing update frequency" to less frequent

3. Making new local files with a timestamp appended every time we open the file

Thank you all for your help

I've seen that message when:

  • the internet connection is down
  • or when the BIM 360 service is down
  • or when another team member is already synchronizing when I try to synchronize.

Dear Alfredo,

None of the above are applicable in our case. We never synchronize at the same time. Our internet speed is 400mbs. And, as mentioned, the project is on the server, not BIM 360.

Another reason:

  • One of the team members is working directly in the central file instead of in a local copy.
