Is there a way to get a text box to snap to the center of a square without addons or dynamo? I always do it with lines or eyeballing nudges.

There's got to be a better way than this.

Thanks for your time!

Change label's sample value to a symmetrical character such as X or M so that you can eyeball it in the center of the box more easily.

I usually create a text/label box the same size as the symbol, center justification, and eyeball it to match the symbol.  Later if I need to stretch the text/label box, it is still maintain the center alignment with the symbol.

I don't even think Dynamo could do it?  It can't "eyeball".  What's your "lines" manual method?

try the attached file its a generic annotation you will have to enter manualy how many spaces you use (Text,Number and spaces) to scale the box might have to tweak the parameters within depending if you want diffrent graphics or want other font sizes.

Hi, what I've done is create a dwg with several drawn plus-signs. Then I've created all the text aligning (middle/center...) for each textheight, snapped to the center of the plus. Then I've inserted the dwg into an annotation family, full explode and some clean-up. This family I use for copying text and snapping to the correct location. This mean you can get the exact center for text

Draw a line around the boundary of the text box (this takes some doing). Draw another line across the middle. Select all of the above and move it into position.
