Ceilings are showing second floor not first

I am trying to create a ceiling plan for my project but when I am on the first level trying to create it, the information displayed is all based on the story above it not the one that I am actually on. When I go to the floor above it then "Lvl 2" It does not give me any options to create a ceiling except for three rooms, those three rooms also show up on Lvl 1 when I am trying to draw in that ceiling. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried restarting the program, deleting the ceiling plans entirely, changing the view settings, adjusting wall heights, drawing the ceiling on my own instead of the fast draw, and nothing seems to be working. When I draw it myself it will push the ceiling to where it sits just above the floor on the second story, and then when it is dragged back down it will not let me place any can lights or any other fixtures in or on it unless I am in 3-D view placing them.

Revit Version: 2024.2

The orange box is the automatic ceilings depiction of what it should be, but that is based off of a room from the level above not the level that I am on.

What's the Associated Level of the first level you're on?

Assuming the ceiling plan you're working in is associated with the correct level then check View Range settings and Underlay. When the ceiling tool does not recognize boundaries it means that the walls are not tall enough to provide a closed boundary for Revit to "see" and that's either because the walls are not tall enough or View Range is not defined correctly to see the walls.

Thank you, i went in and looked at it and it was pulling due to the ceiling height not following what the actual height should have been, I corrected it and it now works like it should.

Thank you!

Haha...I rushed my reply...meant to add that the ceiling height needs to be a "workable" height for the room and the view's view range settings 🙂 Glad you sorted it out!
