Ceiling Boundary Line not Plotting as Shown.

TLDR: Thick line at the edge of ceilings is not printing out as a solid line.

In our reflected ceiling plan, we use Visibility Graphics > Ceilings to set the projection line to a thick line. It looks perfect before we print. If we print or make a PDF, the ceiling boundaries do not show up as solid lines. They appear to break at random points. My "fix" has been to draft lines that are locked to the edges of ceilings, but this feels like a redundant step that VG settings should have fixed.

In the attached RCP, I am cutting all walls, and ceilings are flat.

Am I missing something?

A couple of questions:

-Are you printing directly to a printer/plotter? What settings? Color or B&W?

-Try printing to PDF, w/ High or Presentation Quality / Vector ( or try Raster ) --then print paper copy from the PDF.

thanks Cliff

I have tried printing directly, and I have tried creating a PDF (our typical workflow). The results are the same.

I am using Vector processing, and color.

Just to double check, I did print the PDF with bad lines, and it does in fact print just like the PDF:)

Per your suggestion, I did try Raster. Raster DOES show complete lines, but it's a Raster image and will interfere with some of our Quality Control procedures.

Is the box below ticked or not?

That box is not ticked.

I checked the box and tried a new PDF. The lines were all thin.

It's a vector, and it's a consistent line weight, just not the weight I want. 🙂

What is the View Range cut height?  It isn't right at the face of the ceiling, is it?

I can only fix it by turn on transparency for walls category and set bluebeam to line merge.

I have never messed with the Line Merge settings before, I'll mess with them some more today.

Transparent walls with Line Merge (Multiply %100) almost works. I'm not going to implement this in our template just yet, but I'll definitely keep this idea in my "tool box".

Hi @Trevor_W

Can you confirm if you've installed the latest updates for your Revit version?

Did you try printing to PDF with another PDF printer, other than blue-beam?

Regards,

Revit v: 18.3.0.97   20180329_1100(x64)

I have tried 3 Printers to print directly from Revit. They each printed with broken ceiling lines.

I've only used Bluebeam for PDFs. I've used the Add-In controls to PDF, as well as the Revit Print settings to PDF.

No luck.

@Trevor_W

Good that you are on the latest version!

Yes, I tested your file with few other PDF printers and get the broken lines as well.

Let me test the file further.
