Casework in family appears different in elevation view than the family editor

I am creating a family for a shelf and the casework appears to be correct when editing it in the family part, but when I upload it to the model and view it in elevation, the dimensions of the casework is all wrong and overlapping with one another.

Sounds like it is improperly built.

Post the family. We'll fix 'er up.

I feel like it has something to do with changing the dimensions of the casework and it not carrying over for some reason.

Nothing is constrained in this family. It broke to smithereens when I tried flexing it in the Family. You need to Align and Lock elements to Ref. Planes and drive the Ref. Planes with labeled Dimensions.  Do you understand what I mean?

I sort of know what you mean, I have never had a ton of direction when it comes to creating new families so could you possibly explain a little further?

Here some information describing the crux of it.  I would suggest using some keywords in this article to Google for some on-line tutorial videos.

Sorry @Anonymous; I see I didn't include the link address to the page that describes the "crux" of the problem you have.
