Cant move Elevation line

Our building plan just grew. Now the Elevation markers and control line are inside the building.  I have had this happen before and I just picked and mover them to the appropriat place.  It all worked just fine.  This time the control line wont move.  No mater how I select it or try to move it, it won't move in or out.  It will slide sideways but no in or out. 

How do I overcome this?

I am unsure what you mean by it will move sideways but not in or out.

When you are selecting it as you selecting just the marker or using a window to select all the parts as shown below...

Thank You Lisa,

But I just figured out that it was a dependent duplicate elevation view being used because the building is too long to fit on the page.  The control line wouldn't move because it has to be mioved with the original Elevation control line.   It could slide sidways because that is what the dependants are made to do.  Thanks
