Cant edit Ceiling?

If I am on the ceiling plan view, I cannot access the ceiling or the elements in it. I can access the ceiling view a 3D view but that is tedious and slows down my work process. I can add a new ceiling and insert lights etc. but after I hit the green check, I am unable to further access without going through the 3D as mentioned.

Use TAB to cycle through the selection until you see Ceiling indicated in the status bar or Properties, then choose Edit Boundary.  If the ceiling has a grid pattern, you can hover the cursor over a grid instead of the edge.

Yes, I tried that as well. However, it is not gridded and I can select the elements such as the walls and light fixtures but still not the ceiling boundary. I just noticed that a room I have deleted is still showing up on the ceiling plan, does that change anything? I have closed out the program and reopened it a couple of times to give it a 'refresh' but it doesnt change the document.

Another snag.... It appears I have been saving it as a template and not a project file. I have created a new project file with the intention of using my current file as a template for moving forward; but I cannot figure out how to do that. Please forgive me, I am a student who still has a lot to learn!

I cant seem to upload because the file is too large. I purged unused materials.. Im sure I have been working in the file poorly which is causing it to be so large. Im not sure what else I can do. I just want to be able to work on my ceiling plan...

How about Allow Select Element by Face then you can select the ceiling by click on its face.  Make sure the view is not Wireframe.

Close the file.  Create a new Project and Browse to the RTE file you have been working on.  It will create a new project RVT file from the RTE template.

Your view range may have changed. Make sure the values are manually set to default.
Do this in the selected view. Or it may be the detailing view - set it to fine
