Cannot change door sizes or materials

So suddenly for no apparent reason when I need to change the door heights from 2100 to 2340 it will not allow me to change the door heights - or modify the doors at all. I have never seen this issue before, the only other changes I made to the doors was to change the colours to the frame and panel to match the walls.

nothing I try will make a difference

I can insert a new door - but even if I try to change the colours / materials even more errors come up

ALSO just tested it and cannot modify window sizes either - the entire project seems to have changed something??

Go into detective mode. Track down the culprit.  Go to Manage Tab=>Select by Element ID and type in the Element ID Number (e.g. "id") of the conflicting Element shown in the Error Dialog.

Open the door family and check door height constraint.

But its happening on windows too? also any attempt to change it in any way results in the same error - I checked if the library is there and it is.

now I cannot even put a door in

THIS IS TRUE FOR ALL FILES NOW NOT JUST THIS ONE

Something is weird here.  I can select id 813123, and I can see its properties - but I cannot see it the model.

What do you think @ToanDN

813123 is a type properties.  Element instance is the one above it.

Did that and it makes no difference

I cannot even open a template now without errors coming up and it will not run at all

if I open an brand new project with no changes at all it still has the same issue - I cannot even insert a door

error is ' cant make type single flush '

BTW @wisedrawing, I don't have any issues on my end either.   Unless you can provide me with the steps to make the error happen on my end, I have to assume it's a local problem.  Maybe a bad install?

  • it seems there is nothing wrong with the actual files then.
  • and I have done the turn it off and turn it back on again etc.
  • it was working perfectly yesterday and today its a disaster.
  • I checked that the library is in place in case something weird was going on.
  • I have not updated the software as its all up to date.

essentially the steps now are:

1. go to insert door or window

2. get error

so for me it seems that its something in Revit on my system

You were able to do a clean uninstall/install in under 35 minutes???  Impressive. Marvel's Flash would be jealous.

Boy, this is a real head-scratcher.  Maybe the issue is with the Family?  Maybe something isn't constrained properly. Open Family and Align/Lock all Sketch Linework (including Opening) to Ref. Planes - or constrain linework with a locked dimensions.

Thanks for trying to help

nothing I do will fix this, I have a ticket in the system for the fault, however to date I have received NO phone call for support and I have received no useful response, apart from upload more error logs, to my reply for the case. Autodesk in their wisdom do NOT have a phone support number to talk to anyone. Its just a dead end phone number, asks you to line up and book a call which now is 2 full days from my reporting this fault.

I am appealing to Autodesk people who will be monitoring this forum; I NEED HELP NOW! - I am particulary unhappy as a customer for 20 years that I have no quick support for your product fault when I need it!

I have tried every method to get support and have had to resort to using the forum.

I did not create the faulty software problem and should not be made to wait this long; I want support now! I have lost 3 days work, its costing my business!
