The best I can get is both new and existing ceiling gets downloaded to A-CLNG-PATT-. I'm running on Revit 2023, I've phase status to the layer modifiers. Is it even possible?

Accepted solution

you can go to dwg/dxf export set up and change edit add.edit modifiers... and see if helps.

I tried that, it works for model items like doors, walls but not for 2d items like the ceiling patterns. Revit does not differentiate between new/existing/demolished hatch patterns. (At least not that I know of...)

The boundary of a ceiling is altered by phase graphics/filters but the hatch associated with them is not. The typical solution is to use a separate type of ceiling with a demolition stylized hatch to show those correctly. You'll probably have to fix the layer assignment in AutoCAD after exporting from Revit.

It didn't work at first because I did not go deep enough into the different ceiling definitions. I went to A-CLNG-PATT and changed its modifier to A-CLNG. It then exported to the layer with the correct suffex of demo/new/exst. Now I have to figure out how to export the revit to autocad geometry that is colored by layer.
