Can't update curtain system in option to face in option

I added a curtain system and generic model that defines the faces to a design option.

Now I can no longer use the "update to face" button, it is greyed out.

When I click the generic model, it does show that the curtain system is a related host.

Are you in the active design option?

i'm having this problem in the main model too.

if I adjust the generic model, i lose the ability to update to face or edit face selection.

what causes that?

This happens to me all the time. I feel like you only get like 3 chances to update to face in Revit. (not true)

Is the original mass it's hosted to changed in any way?  Even the slightest line added to the mass extrusion will be enough to decouple the face/mass connection.

Is it deleted and recreated?  Therefore needs to be recreated by the curtain wall tool?  Unfortunately I don't believe it can be rehosted.

Can you go back to an earlier version it was working in and re-copy that back into this project file?  (mass + curtain wall)

I just have same issues, then I astonishingly find a solution

you just have to pin the curtain wall, and then unpin it. This makes the 'Update to Face' option appear in color

This solved the issue for me too. Must be a bug. Thanks

Unpinning, then pinning was also the solution here. The curtain wall was only able to be changed when pinned! Literally the exact opposite of how pinning should work. tHanKs aUtoDEsk

Pinning and unpinning worked for me! When i tried it with another wall, it wasn't working until i went into the hidden view and hit tab until i  could select a Mass face for the wall, moved it where i wanted it to go and THEN i was able to hit Update to Face !!
