Can't Load Family

So I downloaded furniture for Revit, and I can open the file separately, but seem to have issues exporting it into my model. Whenever I click "Load Family" and choose the .rvt file, absolutely nothing happens.

I tried downloading families from several different sources, one of which was BIMSmith. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

Hi

you need " rfa" Revit family to load

" rvt" file is revit file.. you cannot load one revit file into another..

but you may link it.

also You can copy and paste the furniture from one file to another...

hope that helps

Thank you! Will try doing this instead. Is there a way to convert .rvt to .rfa?

As long as two Revit files are open in the same Revit window, it should allow copy..

Hi,

whats the family type you are loading? some things, doors and windows for example, do not show up in the "generic" load family option...they only show when you're in the door or window tool. Also look in the browser under families to see if it loaded. you can drag and drop from the browser as well.
