Can't highlight and object to delete it

I'm somewhat of a newbie, but over 30 yrs. in AutoCAD. Anyway, I'm at wit's end trying to delete an object (see s/c). I modeled a rigid frame in 3D solids in AutoCAD to insert into my Revit model. They are successfully in-place under the front roof -- no problem. There is however, this frame I absolutely cannot highlight to delete, sitting on top of a wall of the rear building (in red). Tried all levels, all views and nothing. Help would be appreciated. Close-up shows a green line on a vert. element of it, and a turquoise line along the top beam edge.

After more thought, this seems to be a remnant of an earlier attempt at inserting another file out of AutoCAD, which was a frame made up of polyface meshes. I didn't realize it actually inserted, thus the reverting to modeling the same frame in 3D solids. So, it appears I have both now, and the mesh insertion refuses to leave.  -- TIA  Larry

Select one of the frames that you CAN select, the right-click, and choose Select All Instances in Project.

Then look at the lower right corner of your screen, this will tell you how many are selected.

Then, using the "sunglasses" tool at the bottom of the screen, while they are still selected--choose Isolate Element.

This will show only the bent frames in your view.

You should now be able to see / select the one you need to delete.

( Hint--you will find it better to model these types of elements in Revit, instead of importing/linking them from Acad.)

Some tips - 

1) Go to Wireframe view

2) Hide objects that get in the way

3) Tab>>Click to cycle between overlapping objects

4) Set selection options as such -

That works for the frames that were inserted that were modeled in 3D
solids, however the command does not highlight the one I want. The instance
of the frame that still is not highlighted was modeled *separately in
AutoCAD as polyface meshes*.

This appears to be a linked CAD file. How do I un-link it?

Insert tab > Manage Links > CAD formats > Remove

The underlay/cad link/"xref" is gone, but this pesky frame is still sitting
on top of my roof and I cannot highlight it to delete. The object is a
"remnant" of an AutoCAD polyface mesh of a rigid frame. Maybe this will
help - I also had the file open in 3ds Max and had WSM open. I closed 3ds
Max and did not keep the file, thinking the link would die (if there was a
link), closed and re-opened Revit. Frame is still there and cannot
highlight it. thx

Could the frame geometry somehow be in a design option?  Elements in a design option will become "unselectable" like this.

Hmm..........perhaps it is a proxygraphics issue with the native Acad file?

Also, was the mesh cad dwg inserted into a Family? or inserted/linked directly into the model/revit project?

Try turning on "Imports in Families" under Visibility/Graphics>Imported Categories

Also, see if there is such a Family in the Project Browser, and if so, delete it from there.

Well, I was hoping it might disappear in a rendering, but it didn't. I'm
not sure what you mean as a "design option", or how it's possible to have
something in a drawing that is unselectable. Is there a way to purge the
model? Will that "list items to purge" as AutoCAD will do?

I moved the entire model/site away from the frame (since I couldn't
highlight it). It was tied to the base point. In the visibility graphics
window (see clip), there were (2) instances of the block (I had
write-blocked it out of AutoCAD). Both had to be unchecked for the frame to
disappear. I tried each individually, but it was still visible.

Here is the root cause of this (other than I'm learning Revit after 33 yrs.
of AutoCAD and finally have a simple project with some extra time) -- I
attempted a simple bracket model within Revit, made up of 3 steel tubes. I
spent 2 days trying to figure out how to rotate it into an upright position
to insert it into my building model. I finally threw up my hands and
modeled it in AutoCAD, since I'm very well-versed modeling in that program.
Rotating around XYZ axis' is a simple task in AutoCAD, as well as
extrusions & solids. That was FIRST ATTEMPT.

SECOND ATTEMPT was for the rigid frame member. Since I had several old
project files, I had some 3D face/mesh drawings of rigid frames that could
be easily stretched into the span and slope that I needed. I saw a tutorial
video on how to model a PEMB frame, but it looked entirely more tedious
than just modeling it in AutoCAD and inserting it. I could taper the frames
also. It appears to me that 3D modeling is not quite as sophisticated in
Revit. My frustration in not being able to freely rotate a created model
form around XYZ axis' almost had me bailing on this project and going
"back" to AutoCAD Architecture.

I've gone through past years of modeling from scratch & using Accurender
(predecessor, and once incorporated in older Revit versions), but visual
quality now is better in Revit. I have yet to import renderings into 3ds
Max, and am anxious to do that.
