Can't edit wall dimensions

When the wall is selected the dimensions do not turn blue and are not editable. Dimensions are hosted by the wall.

I deleted everything around the wall but it still did not work. I detached the wall from everything I think. I have other walls with this issue as well.

I'm stumped.

I've used Autocad for about 30 years drawing 2d residential projects. I'm dyin' here. I cannot edit some dimensions that are attached to doors or windows or even overall dimensions. For instance, if I want to pick a window that's attached to an exterior corner, that dimension cannot be edited. But the next dimensions attached to the same window are able to be changed??? Same goes for exterior walls. If I pick a wall and want to type in a new dimension for that wall, I cannot.

I'm having the same problem today in Revit 2022.

"Automatic Sketch Dimensions" is on in visibility graphics.

Luckily, I can click the "Activate Dimensions" button when a wall or other object is selected, and modify the dimension. But the setting does not stick and I have to click each object before adjusting its dimension.

This is a file that was originally created in Revit 2018, so I'm wondering if maybe something in the programming has changed since then and maybe the file doesn't include something it needs to work in the current version- 

If anyone has an easy answer for this I'd appreciate it.
