Can't add risers to cast-in place stairs

Hi!

I am having a problem with a cast-in place monolithic stair in a project. I want to create a stair with risers like in the right one in the image, but when I tick the riser option in the run type menu, revit gives me ''can't make stairs'' error. I tried it in a different file ( right view) without having problems. I checked all the properties and everything, it is all the same. I copy-pasted the right stairs and then it tells me that run types and stair types are different and existing properties will be used. I have been double checking but couldn't solve the problem.

Create the stair by sketch, not by component. Revit will ask you to sketch out the stair in plan. As long as you remember that the black lines are for risers and the green lines are for the boundaries of the stair, you should be fine.

All else failing, please post a file for a more informed (and accurate) solution.

Doesn't creating a stair by sketch cause other problems, like not being able to annotate with stair paths and riser numbers? Or has that been fixed? I create a random stair by component, then convert them to sketch and delete everything and start over. Then the annotations work.

Can you save as a copy, delete everything except for that stair, and post the file?

If you are Copying and Pasting from another project, that message would be expected if the Stair Types share the same name. Try renaming the good one and then Copy-Paste. Keep in mind that the stair type uses named component types too (e.g. profiles for tread and risers), so you'll still get that message. 

But, I'm wondering if you have a locked dimension/constraint somewhere that is preventing the addition of the risers.

Hello again everybody,

I am sorry I think I misleaded you by saying ''risers'', I meant adding the riser layer on top of the steps. If you check my previous images on top maybe you can understand better. I attached another image below, if I click on the riser option in the properties after I created the stairs, it gives me the error but it works fine in another project file.

I looked at your stairs, and yes there is a problem. I can't figure it out exactly, but the issue is with the second landing from the bottom (the only one that is sketched). Revit apparently doesn't like it. If you delete that landing, the problem goes away; Revit allows risers to be added. 

If I get time, I'll investigate further and report back. But frankly, the landing isn't sketched correctly anyways, so I would just redo the entire staircase.

The second landing was the culprit.  I deleted an recreated it, not from sketch but by connecting the runs.  Then there is no problem adding risers.

I have a different problem, after creating the boundary I want, I start adding the raisers, however I can´t add any further after that.
