Can Revit do this ?

The attached pic shows an Elevation whereas a part in the middle is without a hatch pattern.

I find it interesting and it breaks up the monotony of the view.

Does anyone know how to do this in Revit?

yes, use paint tool and edit the surfaces as needed :

Hi @glkirk 

 

  1. Create a duplicate of the material used for the roof and have one with pattern and the other without
  2. Use split face >> pick the roof plane you wish to split >> Place split lines or splines
  3. Apply paint using roof pattern withoug pattern or vice versa
  4. Hide split line using invisible lines or hide using view filter or put them on a workset which you can open or close as needed
