Can NOT use reference plane to create roof?

I have two sloped roofs and they are on the same plane, so I created a reference plane and wish create the roofs on it, however I got the error messages. Although I can create the two roofs with the same slope, but I want them to be on the same plane and I don't want to make one roof and cut the part between them using shaft if I don't have to.

Normal Roof need to be on the level. I would use extrude profile.

Model a flat roof with slope (by assign a slope to an edge of the sketch, or by a slope arrow); or a flat roof and modify sub-element and raise one edge to the elevation you want; or model a roof by extrusion.

Thanks you for showing me this method but it can only be used for roof with simple footprint.

However I figured out how to solve the issue - I just created two roofs with the same slope and use the elevation view or section view to align them.

Not necessarily true.  You can create a simple rectangular roof by boundary or a rectangular roof by extrusion and use a vertical opening cut to make any shape you want.
